No camera. No managing your face.
Walk, lie down, stare out a window—whatever helps you stay present without having to perform being okay.
Accredited social work counselling · Telehealth Australia wide
Accredited social work counselling that works with both words and the body, for adults who carry more than they let on. Neurodivergence, trauma, complex mental health, women's health, and relationships. Twenty years of clinical depth, and a steady space where the difficult parts can be met without judgement or surprise.
60-minute phone, secure video or chat sessions. No referral needed to start.
A different kind of therapy
Talking helps. Being understood, making sense of things, saying the unsayable out loud, that work is real and it sits at the centre of every session. But talk on its own assumes you can always find the words and think your way out. If the feeling lands in your body long before it reaches language, words alone leave a great deal on the floor.
So MEB Counselling works with both. You talk, and the session stays attentive to what your nervous system is doing underneath the talking. Some sessions are mostly words. Some are mostly body. The work follows what the moment actually needs, at the pace your system allows.
You will not have to translate what it is like to be you before the work can begin. Two decades of clinical practice means very little turns up that has not been met before, and you will never need to make it neat for anyone.
Is this you
If any of that landed, you are in the right place.
Why social work counselling
Social work counselling looks at you in context. Not only what is happening inside you, but the relationships, pressures, and systems around you that shape how you feel. It is practical as well as emotional, strengths-based rather than pathologising, and held to professional accreditation and a code of ethics.
You are more than a diagnosis. The work holds your inner world and your real circumstances at the same time.
Insight matters. So does the form you cannot face filling in and the system you cannot navigate. Both belong in the room.
Accredited social work counselling means real training, professional standards, and ethical accountability behind every session.
Social work is built on whole systems and messy reality. Families, relationships, and the parts that do not reduce to a single diagnosis. Complexity is the starting point, not a problem to tidy away.
Why work with MEB Counselling
From everyday overwhelm to bipolar, clinical depression, and addiction. MEB Counselling works alongside your GP or psychiatrist where that is right, and does not hand the difficult presentations straight back to the waitlist.
Plenty of practitioners do talk therapy. Fewer are also trained to work somatically. At MEB Counselling you get both, used in whatever balance the session calls for.
Accredited social work counselling, not a coach or an app. Real training, real accountability, and real clinical depth behind every session.
Assessments, labels, second opinions, and the systems people get lost inside. MEB Counselling helps you make sense of what a diagnosis means for your life, not just your file.
About
Accredited social work counselling · AASW member 685030 · Telehealth Australia wide
Meg has spent more than twenty years in social work, across community programs, senior leadership, and clinical practice, before building MEB Counselling from a small island in the Torres Strait. She works with people right across Australia by telehealth, so distance is never the reason someone goes without good support.
Her approach is warm, direct, and very hard to shock. There is clinical depth for the serious end of things, and steadiness for the ordinary, exhausting, human middle. Expect plain language, no jargon, and no pretending life is tidier than it is.

Areas of focus
Whoever you are, and however you love or identify, you are welcome here as a starting point, not something to explain. These are the areas MEB Counselling works in most.
ADHD and autism, and the work of making sense of a late or complex diagnosis. Support that works with how you are wired, not against it.
Trauma does not only live in the story you can tell. The work is somatic, holding the body and the nervous system as much as the words.
Depression, bipolar, and the diagnoses that need more than reassurance. MEB Counselling works alongside your other care, not instead of it, offering a steady space where difficult things can be held without shock or judgement.
Perinatal support, PMDD, perimenopause, and menopause. The hormonal shifts that change everything and that no one seems to warn you about.
Relationship breakdown, couples work, and the family patterns underneath. Sometimes the work is the system, not just the person.
Addiction, and the coping that once worked and then stopped. Honest, non-judgmental, and paced for a real life.
Ways to work together
Australia-wide telehealth counselling for individuals, couples and whole families. Choose phone with no camera or masking, secure video, or chat when speaking feels like too much. Social work training means working with the system, not just the person.
Clinical supervision for social workers and allied health professionals who want a thinking space that holds them, not just their caseload.
Program design, evaluation, and trauma-informed consultancy, drawing on two decades of community and cross-cultural practice.

Before you go
Humming is one of the oldest ways the body settles itself. Press play, let your shoulders drop, and breathe out slowly. Something small to take with you.
Booking takes a couple of minutes. If you are not sure whether it is the right fit, book anyway. The first session is exactly where you find that out.
